Berkshire projects are frequently larger — paddock, parkland and long boundaries that need a masterplan before any detail is drawn. The question is rarely what to put in the garden, but where the garden should stop and the wider landscape should begin.
Around Ascot and Sunningdale we work with the same free-draining sandy soils as the Surrey border, and with houses that range from Edwardian to new-build. Nearer the Thames at Windsor and Marlow, heavier alluvial ground and flood considerations change how terraces and planting beds are built up.
For larger sites we usually phase delivery: hard landscape and structural tree planting first, then the ornamental layers, so the budget follows the elements with the longest lead time to maturity.
