Landscape Designer Surrey
Designing private gardens across Surrey, from the Wentworth and St George's Hill estates to family houses in Guildford and Farnham.
Surrey gardens are unusually varied. On the sand belt around Virginia Water, Wentworth and Oxshott the soil is free-draining and acidic, which suits pine, birch, rhododendron and Mediterranean-style planting but punishes anything that needs moisture through August. Further west towards Guildford the greensand and chalk change the palette again.
Most of the projects we take on in Surrey involve significant level change. Plots slope, houses have been extended, and the ground immediately outside new glazing is often a metre or more out of alignment with the internal floor. Resolving those levels properly — with retaining structures, drainage and step geometry designed rather than improvised — is usually the single largest determinant of whether a garden feels effortless.
Tree cover is the other constant. Many Surrey plots sit within conservation areas or carry Tree Preservation Orders, and root protection areas will shape where terraces, pools and foundations can go. We establish that at survey stage rather than discovering it during construction.

Your garden could be extraordinary.
From contemporary gardens to large country landscapes, we create outdoor spaces designed around architecture, lifestyle and place.
